Since Monday 17th May international travel slowly started to open back up again. As expected, a traffic light system was put in place – red, amber and green. Similar to what we experienced last year with the “travel corridors” these changes to which countries are listed on changes every 3 weeks. From Monday 19th July UK residents who are double vaccinated arriving back to England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland from an amber traffic light country do not need to quarantine for 10 days. You will still need to do a rapid antigen test within 48 hours to return back to the UK to get your fit to fly certificate and you will also need to book a day 2 test before you arrive back to the UK. A day 2 test is a PCR test, the day you arrive back to the UK is day 0. For example, if you arrive back in the UK on a Sunday (Day 0) you will need to do a Day 2 test on or before Tuesday (Day 2). A PCR test is a swab test that needs to be sent to back to our laboratory to be analysed. This test can take up to 24 hours once your PCR swab test reaches our laboratory. Once we have your results we will email and upload your test results certificate.

The country that you are travelling to may ask for you to present proof of a negative PCR test or a negative rapid antigen test. When you go to the check in desk at the airport, they often ask to see this certificate before you pass through security. Depending on the airline that you are traveling with you may be required to show this certificate again before you get onto the plane.
At the moment a fit-to-fly certificate is required when returning back to the UK. This test can be a rapid antigen test which needs to be completed within 48 hours of travel. On our website you can see three rapid antigen testing options which you can choose from. We have developed these three options to help support you with different levels of care.

Your PCR test COVID 19 fit to fly certificate checklist:
1) Order your test-kit on the Klarity website at least 7 days before you travel.
You have the option to choose from either:
Standard PCR Test package – This includes your test kit, video tutorial of how to take your swab sample and a prepaid postal box for you to send your PCR test kit back to our laboratory via royal mail track 24.
Premium PCR Test package – This package has your test-kit, an online video consultation with one of our healthcare professionals and a prepaid postal box for you to send your PCR test kit back to our laboratory via royal mail track 24.
2) Log onto the Klarity App and click on “My Appointments and Tests” – select the test you have bought and follow the steps.
3) Take your PCR Swab sample in the comfort of your home and ensure to record your royal mail tracking number.
4) Post your PCR test using our prepaid postal box in your nearest priority royal mailbox. This can take up to 24 hours to arrive in our lab.
5) Once your PCR test sample reaches our lab your test results will be ready within 24 hours.
6) Your covid 19 fit to fly certificate will be emailed to you and uploaded to your Klarity app.

Klarity’s Rapid Antigen covid 19 fit to fly certificate testing options in more detail:
Basic Antigen – This test option is fantastic if you are used to taking these tests and feel comfortable with the swab process. Once your purchase this test kit option, you’ll receive an email and text on how to download and log onto the Klarity app. On the home screen you’ll see “My Appointments and Tests” – click here and the basic antigen testing will be there for you to start your testing process. Click on the antigen test button and you will be taken to a screen to watch how to perform the test. After this on the next page you can start recording yourself doing the test on our app. The next stage is to wait 15 minutes for your test result before you take a photo of your test device. Upload photo of test device by using the options in the app before taking a photo of your passport. Once you have completed the three easy stages your test certificate will be sent to you within 60 minutes.
Standard Antigen – This testing is the hybrid options between our basic antigen and premium antigen testing options. After you have you have purchased your test kit you will receive an email where you can download the app and use the login credentials to sign up. On the home screen you’ll see “My Appointments and Tests” – click here and you will be able to book your online video consultation with one of our healthcare professionals. The healthcare professional will guide you through the swab sample testing process. Once you have completed this process, your healthcare professional will inform you to set your timer to 15 minutes before the appointment ends. After 15 minutes you will need to upload your test device and photo ID in the Klarity app. You will then receive your fit to fly certificate within 60 minutes.
Premium Antigen – This testing package includes an online video consultation from start to finish for the whole testing procedure. Once you have purchased your test kit you will receive an email where you can download the app and use the login credentials to sign up.
On the home screen you’ll see “My Appointments and Tests” – click here and you will be able to book your online video consultation with one of our healthcare professionals. The healthcare professional will guide you through the testing process where you will be remotely guided on each step-by-step process from taking the test to reading the test device for your results. Within this premium antigen service, you will receive your test certificate with 15 minutes of your appointment ending.
Please note that your online video appointments should take place within 48 hours of your flight in order to ensure you have a valid certificate
